Job summary

EverGRO is hiring a Farm Store Associate for Upperville, VA. This part-time role focuses on friendly customer service, POS transactions, and store presentation.

You’ll help with stocking, merchandising, and basic warehouse tasks, including loading and unloading deliveries, while promoting events and merchandise. Ideal candidates enjoy teamwork, are comfortable handling propane cylinders, and can work a 15-20+ hour weekly schedule, including weekends if needed.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement. Training will be provided.
• Experience in a retail environment and handling POS equipment is preferred.
• Ability to provide friendly, efficient service and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with friendly and efficient service.
• Process checkout, exchanges and returns using POS equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized store showroom appearance.
• Assist with store events, displays and merchandising.
• Cross-train to support warehouse duties and loading/unloading deliveries.
• Stock merchandise and assist with inventory tasks.
• Fill propane cylinders and assist customers as needed.
• Work 15-20+ hours per week, with a schedule that may include weekends.

Some positions will have the following work environment qualities.

• This position will work both within an indoor storeroom setting, but will also be responsible for working outdoors at times to assist with customer needs on deliveries, pick-ups, etc.
• Work schedule will vary throughout Monday-Saturday, and will include rotation between opening/closing and weekend shifts potentially

For this role, we are looking for talent that can bring to the table the following.

• No minimum education requirement or years of professional experience
• Prefer six (6) months of experience in a retail environment providing customer service & operating point of sale equipment
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Willingness & ability to work during operating hours and on Saturdays if/when needed
• Forklift Certification or willingness & ability to obtain the certification through on-the-job training
• Able & willing to learn to be trained to fill propane tanks
• A passion and enthusiasm to work with our cooperative customers to help improve and overcome any challenges related to their needs
• The ability to focus and work safely when operating equipment and helping customers
• A knack for relationship building and problem-solving
• A desire to learn, grow and work as a cross-functional team member with other divisions within EverGRO
