Job summary

Professional Swine Management (PSM) in Carthage, IL, is seeking a Farm Startup Coordinator to support startup and transition of new farms and breed projects. You will coordinate timelines with PSM leadership, farm ownership, contractors, and vendors to ensure readiness and on-schedule execution.

The role requires collaboration with production managers, veterinarians, and senior leadership to implement SOPs, train teams, and uphold biosecurity and animal welfare standards.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of swine production, livestock management or agricultural operations experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and coordinating all phases of new farm startups and management strategies.
• Maintain startup timelines and track completion of critical milestones.
• Coordinate activities among farm ownership, PSM leadership, contractors, vendors, and farm staff.
• Monitor startup progress and communicate potential concerns or delays.
• Assist in preparing farms for animal placement and operational readiness.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, and resources are available per startup schedules.
• Document action items and follow-up activities.
• Support training and onboarding of new farm management teams.
