Job description

Red Fire Farm, an organic farm based in Western Massachusetts, is looking for a CSA Farm Share Coordinator to manage our flagship CSA farm share distribution in Granby. The summer season runs from June through October, with possible opportunities for continued work into the fall. The CSA Coordinator position involves setting up a market-style produce display, greeting and welcoming CSA members to each distribution, lifting and sorting veggies, talking with people who care about local farms, and feasting on some seriously high quality produce all season long.

Job Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Attention to detail in carefully and aesthetically creating produce displays.
• Eagerness to talk to members about seasonal produce, how to cook/use the contents of shares, and what is happening at the farm.
• Prompt and thorough communication with coworkers and supervisors, including completion of a weekly Wrap-Up form.
• Flexibility in assisting retail coworkers in the farm store.

Schedule

CSA Distributions occur on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:00–6:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, with setup and cleanup time required beforehand and afterward. Having availability for these hours is important for the role from June-October.

Minimum 25 hours per week with opportunity for full time schedule combined with other work if interested.

Compensation

• $15.00–16.00/hour based on experience
• Free CSA membership including weekly Regular Vegetable Share and pick-your-own privileges
• 15% discount on all Red Fire Farm retail purchases, bulk orders, and add-on shares.

Start Date & Availability

The first Summer CSA distribution is Wednesday June 10th, with availability for prior training strongly preferred.
