Job summary

Kids for the Future in Wayland, IA is seeking a Farm Maintenance Technician to service sow farm buildings and equipment. You will work closely with site managers to keep facilities operating at peak efficiency.

The role covers maintenance of feed systems, fans, controllers, heating and cooling, alarm systems, and log books, with occasional welding. Expect to travel between farms and work in varied climates while upholding bio-security protocols.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Feed system repair and routine lubrication.
• Maintaining and repair fans and controllers.
• Maintenance of heating and cooling systems within the units.
• Maintain and repair alarm system.
• Maintain an accurate log book for all maintenance performed.
• Occasional welding.
• Comply with bio-security protocols such as: shower IN/OUT procedures; adhere to PRRS pyramid; maintain a clean truck; utilization of fogger rooms at all times; proper shoe cover procedure between car and sow farm entry.

The primary objective of the Farm Maintenance Technician is to provide maintenance services to Eichelberger sow farm buildings and equipment. The individual will have the ability to communicate effectively with site managers to ensure all facilities operate at the highest level of efficiency

Position Requirements

• Inside of sow farms where it is loud and dusty
• Driving to different farms
• Outside of sow farms in diverse climates

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday
