Job summary

Farm Service Agency, Nebraska State Office, located in Columbus and Beatrice, seeks a Farm Loan Officer trainee to assist the Farm Loan Manager in administering farm loan programs across counties.

The role requires successfully completing the Farm Loan Training Program; FLOs may be reassigned to another training office during training. This position aligns with GS-5/7/9 qualification levels and related education/experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in finance, business, economics, accounting, banking & credit, or related fields such as agriculture or rural economics.
• General experience: gathering and analyzing facts, presenting information clearly in speech and writing, or knowledge of financial analysis or insurance laws.
• Specialized experience: knowledge of loan examination and servicing principles as applied to agricultural loans; farm operations knowledge may be required.
• Eligibility: GS-5, GS-7, or GS-9 grade levels with corresponding education/experience combinations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Farm Loan Manager in administering farm loan programs for one or more counties.
• Complete the Farm Loan Training Program as required for FLOs.
• May be reassigned to another training office during the training program.
