Job summary

Stepping Stone Farm Inc. is seeking a part-time weekend worker to care for horses at our boarding barn. The role requires weekend shifts Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 5pm with a one-hour lunch break, up to 18 hours per week.

Duties include turning horses out, feeding, grooming, stall cleaning, hay handling, and general barn maintenance. Applicants should have prior equine experience, be willing to work outdoors in all weather, and reliable transportation to and from the farm.

Qualifications

• Must have prior equine experience of some sort.
• Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must have a way of getting to and from work with reliability.

Responsibilities

• Turning horses out and bringing in
• Feeding and setting grain
• Administering medications to horses when needed
• Grooming 10-15 horses thoroughly.
• Cleaning stalls (dumping scrubbing and refilling water buckets, Hay, sweeping isles) depending on the day you will be responsible for 10-14 stalls.
• Throwing hay down from lofts and stacking.
• Fence repairs
• Field maintenance
• Indoor and outdoor ring maintenance

Job description
