Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a hands-on Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a dual role in remote rural Montana. You’ll maintain and repair tractors, combines, sprayers, and trucks and drive semis to move grain when needed. A CDL is required or you must be willing to obtain one.

Housing is included and the job offers year-round, stable work. Candidates should have 5+ years in diesel/heavy equipment repair, experience with John Deere or Case IH, and be self-sufficient, taking ownership of shop

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of diesel/heavy equipment repair experience.
• Experience with large farm equipment (John Deere, Case IH, or similar).
• CDL license (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the full fleet of tractors, combines, sprayers, air seeders, grain carts, drills, and trucks.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Set and manage the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Decide on parts, vendors, and repair vs. replace.
• Keep shop organized with parts inventory and vendor contacts.
• Drive semi to move grain when needed beyond harvest.
• Document maintenance records and decisions.
