Job summary

Kroka Expeditions is seeking a Farm-Educator to lead our land and livestock activities and to integrate farm education with our programs. The role supports a 75 acres of forest and 25 acres of pasture, with on-site housing and a mission-driven educational focus.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years managing a diversified farm, experience teaching children and teens, and strong organizational and communication skills to sustain Kroka’s stewardship goals.

Qualifications

• Livestock care and breeding
• Fencing and pasture management
• Organic and/or biodynamic vegetable production
• Greenhouse/high tunnel management
• Irrigation and water systems
• Tractor and implement use for mowing and tillage
• Care of edible perennial food crops (planting, pruning, pest/disease control)
• Maintenance of hand tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to keep track of and delegate tasks
• Management of a detailed farm budget
• Love of working with children and youth
• Early riser who is cheerful and sociable at 6:30 AM

Responsibilities

• Oversee land and livestock and contribute to Kroka’s education mission.
• Teach children and teenagers in a farm-education context.
• Manage a diversified farm operation including vegetables and livestock.
