State of Washington's DCYF Region 4 Kent office is seeking a Family Voluntary Services Specialist. The role handles CPS referrals, advanced case management, and family-centered services to improve child safety and well-being.

You will interview families, assess risks, and develop plans to support safe home environments. The position requires field and office work, travels with clients, and potential upgrades to SSS3 with proven performance.

Qualifications

• Five years of paid social service experience and 30 credits in a Social Services discipline.
• Master's degree with practicum in Social Services or related field.
• Bachelor's degree with 30 credits in Social Services and one year paid experience.
• One year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 1.
• Ability to take action to learn and grow.
• Ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

Responsibilities

• Provide case-specific assessments and ongoing safety and risk assessments.
• Assess resource needs of children, birth parents, and caregivers; provide stabilization supports.
• Refer, coordinate, and monitor delivery of services.
• Provide goal-directed, time-limited crisis intervention to children and families.
• Utilize shared planning to develop and coordinate case plans.
• Determine resources available for placement of the child.
• Identify and develop permanent plans and concurrent planning.
• Provide active referrals to services.
• Utilize SACWIS/CCWIS to document case activities and payments.
