Job summary

Bridges Homeward seeks a Family Support Specialist to conduct home visits, strengthen family protective factors, and connect families to community resources.

You will manage a caseload, collaborate with DCF and service providers, provide in-home crisis support, and document care in a timely manner. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole speakers are especially needed; a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, or related field; or high school diploma with 5 years related experience.
• Valid driver's license and insured vehicle; occasional transportation to clients.
• Bilingual candidates needed, especially Spanish and Haitian Creole.

Responsibilities

• Manages a caseload of families referred by DCF or other community providers.
• Collaborates with parents, children, DCF staff, Lead Agencies, community resources, and Bridges Homeward staff to develop plans and specify resources.
• Provide in-home crisis response aimed at stabilizing the family.
• Provide a range of interventions to support family capacity to safely care for children and prevent out-of-home placement.
• Coaches Family Time Visitation.
