Job summary

Catholic Charities Boston is seeking a Family Support Peer Specialist to visit DCF-referred families in MA homes, provide parenting education and home management coaching, and connect families with community resources. The role supports parental resilience and child safety, including supervision of visits and transportation facilitation.

The position emphasizes cultural sensitivity, documentation, and collaboration with social workers, with evening or weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Counseling or related field, or 3 years of home visiting experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience in social service delivery and working with families in home-based settings.
• Experience with culturally diverse families; strong safety and confidentiality practices.
• Knowledge of child development, health and mental health within family context.
• Ability to work as a team and maintain professional boundaries and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Visit families in client homes or other required locations for contracted hours.
• Provide parenting education, home management skills, psychoeducation in mental health and domestic violence.
• Coordinate transportation for families as needed and supervise parenting visits.
• Link clients to community resources and assist with housing or shelter search when needed.
• Maintain documentation and visitation reports; attend team meetings and trainings.
