Job summary

Advocates is seeking a Family Support Counselor in Framingham, Massachusetts. You will help families build skills, resolve clinical challenges, and access resources while delivering services primarily in their homes and community locations.

  • Complete crisis plans and coordinate treatment planning with families.
  • Provide individual and family support and coaching.
  • Identify community resources for youth and parents.

Overview

Starting rate: $20.42

$21.42 for bilinguial in Spanish or Portuguese

Advocates is seeking a Family Support Counselor! You will provide services contracted through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), helping families to build skills, resolve clinical challenges, and access resources. You will support families in navigating a wide range of issues, including trauma, behavioral health challenges, complex family systems, and substance use. Services are delivered primarily in families’ homes and in other community locations.

We offer a collaborative team environment, weekly individual supervision, group supervision, and ongoing training. You’ll be joining a collaborative and energetic environment that incorporates a wide range of programs. Our multidisciplinary providers are invested in continuous learning and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Strong computer knowledge and ability to use an Electronic Health Record to document services.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Outstanding reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Must have valid driver’s license. Must have access to an operational and insured automobile and be willing to use it to transport members.
