Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Florida is seeking a Family Specialist to support children and families in the Community-based Family Builders Program. The role covers Volusia, Flagler and Putnam counties, focusing on preventing foster care entry and working with DCF to implement family preservation plans and resources.

The position requires a Bachelor's in social services, 3 years of direct service experience, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services related field required
• Three years' of experience providing direct services to at risk children and families required
• Must be able to complete 3-day new hire orientation via MS Teams; hours 9:00am–5:00pm
• Valid FL Driver's License required
• Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings including Drug Test and TB Test
• Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida

Responsibilities

• Provide family preservation and child welfare case management services
• Develop family preservation plan in collaboration with Department of Children and Families
• Engage families via Family Team Meetings and determine needs for referrals
• Coordinate external referrals and follow-ups to ensure family progress and safety

Devereux Florida provides Family Preservation and Child Welfare case management services for children and families referred by the Department of Children and Families, to ensure a community without abuse, neglect or abandonment. Based out of Deland and providing coverage throughout Volusia, Flagler, and Putnam Counties, this position is responsible for helping families with resources and preventing children from entering the foster care system. This role works very closely with Department of Children and Families to develop a family preservation plan. It engages the Family via family Team Meetings. It will determine needs and implement resources. It works in conjunction with support staff to ensure necessary referrals are completed for external providers as well as completes necessary follow-ups to ensure the needs of the families served are being met. This position will maintain close contact with the assigned DCF investigator to ensure adequate updates are provided as to the family’s progress throughout participation in the Family Builders Program.

Position Details:

Salary: Starts at $20.25 - 23.08 / hr (rate is based on education and relevant experience). This is a position is eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule: Full time; Flexible schedule to accommodate families scheduled; this is NOT a 9-5 position

Location: This position isfield-based position and will provide coverage between Volusia, Flagler, and Putnam Counties
