Addus HomeCare in Illinois seeks a Family Service Specialist to assist families in crisis through DCFS programs, including Family Habilitation Services, Visitation and Housing. You will support families to comply with court-ordered participation and provide practical guidance in the home.

The role offers pay of $17 per hour with daily pay options, flexible scheduling (full-time or part-time), direct deposit, and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in social work, child care, or working with families is preferred.
• Candidates must be reliable, compassionate, and able to manage sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Support families to prevent permanent placement of children out of their home.
• Provide transportation for visits; travel can be extensive.
• Teach homemaking, parenting, and anger management skills at home.
• Supervised and unsupervised visitation; monitor interactions and redirect when needed.
• Prepare written reports and maintain records; submit monthly progress reports with goals and outcomes.
• Report all child abuse and neglect; attend mandated trainings.
• Assist housing/funding efforts for families in housing programs.
