Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Illinois seeks a Family Service Specialist to assist families in crisis through DCFS programs, including Family Habilitation Services, Visitation and Housing. You will teach homemaking and parenting skills, supervise visits, and document progress, while coordinating housing and community supports.

Flexible schedule with full-time and part-time options, pay $17/hour, mileage reimbursement, and daily pay available for select positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree or 2 years of child welfare experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience in social work, child care, or working with families is preferred.
• Must have dependable automobile, valid driver\'s license, and proof of auto insurance.
• Must pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Support families to prevent the permanent placement of children out of their home.
• Provide transportation for parent and/or children to and from locations for supervised visitation.
• Work directly with families in the home, teaching homemaking skills, parenting skills, anger management, utilizing resources.
• Supervised/Unsupervised visitation. Observe interactions and redirect if needed.
• Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records.
• Submit monthly client progress reports with goals and service dates.
• Report all child abuse and neglect.
• Attend mandated trainings.
• Locate housing, jobs and community supports for living independently where applicable.
