TheFamily Resource Center Coordinator is responsible for implementing and operating the Family Resource Center in their community. The FRC Coordinator will lead the collaborative approach to primary prevention in their area, coordinate primary prevention efforts, and work to lead the community to work together. This position will have, or has the potential to have direct contact, on a regular and continuing basis, with children who are under the direct supervision of the agency. This is a full-time position requiring working all open hours at the Family Resource Center. More information about the center can be found at www.strengtheninginfamilies.org

Responsibilities

Community Engagement and Outreach (40%)

  • Motivate and collaborate with various community entities in order to identify and develop professional relationships and partnerships for both CPCS and the Family Resource Center.
  • Identify, contact and maintain knowledge of formal and informal resources in the community that provide family support and recreational activities.
  • Effectively and professionally represent the agency when promoting CPCS/FRC at events, meetings, and other outreach activities.
  • Effectively coordinate, plan and attend events for the community with an emphasis on preventing child abuse and neglect. This could include events held on evenings and weekends.
  • Effectively and professionally share success stories, engage families to make referrals, and speak with community members in order to maintain or increase the number of clients being served or assist with the creation of the Family Resource Centers.

Case Management (20%)

  • Effectively communicate with families that arrive at the FRC for service and assistance.
  • Collaborate with community members to effectively assist families.
  • Responsible for, connecting families to resources, and providing informal support.
  • Responsible for knowing community resources and connecting families to these resources.

Leadership (40%)

  • Effectively manage the Center Calendar, staff schedules, local implementation meetings, and daily operations of the center.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and Director to address staff issues as needed.
  • Participate in monthly supervision utilizing supervision forms and Professional Development Forms.
  • Modeling appropriate case management skills for Community Navigator and Community Liaisons.
  • Effectively participate in the interview process and support Community Navigators and Liaisons in understanding their role and meeting expectations.
  • Effectively onboard/train new staff.
  • Effectively adhere to the DCS service standards and core components of the FRC.
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, public health, human services, or other fields related to work with children and families.ORBachelor’s Degree in Social Work, public health, human services, or other fields related to work with children and families with 3 years of experience.ORLess than a Bachelor’s degree with commensurate experience with the Community Partners Program and/or lived expertise.
  • Must possess a solid understanding of and experience in managing staff, motivating staff, providing support, knowledge of and experience with provision of family centered services as well as administrative experience.
  • Understanding of and ability to work effectively with the community.
  • Driven to ensure work quality meets established standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborative and interacts well with a broad spectrum of individuals.
  • Demonstrates appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences.
  • Adept at multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
