Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a human services related field.
• Associate's degree in human services or related field AND 2 years direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.; OR
• High School Graduate or GED and 4 years direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.; OR
• Any combination of the above equal 4 years post high school.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for children and families by engaging community volunteers and professionals in a strengths-based, family centered planning process.
• Receive and handle referrals from DCS; work closely with the local county DCS office.
• Creatively access community resources.
• Work in settings such as schools, physician offices, probation, and the consumer's home.

Education

Bachelor's degree in social work / psychology / human services

Associate's degree in human services or related field with 2 years direct care experience

High School Diploma or GED with 4 years direct care experience

4 years post-high school experience in social services / mental health

• Must be comfortable and effective in working in a variety of settings such as: schools, physician offices, probation, and the consumer's home.
• Requires possible evening and weekend hours.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a human services related field; or
  • Associate's degree in human services or related filed AND 2 years previous direct care experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.; OR
  • High School Graduate or GED and 4 years previous directcare experience in social services, behavioral health, school-based, etc.; OR
  • Any combination of the above equal 4 years post high school;
• Two to three years of experience working in the mental health field preferred
