Job summary

Northern Inyo Healthcare District in Bishop, CA seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to deliver primary care within a family practice setting, performing histories, exams, orders, and patient education.

Requires California RN and NP/PA license, MSN required unless grandfathered, BLS/ACLS/PALS within deadlines; strong communication and prioritization; proficient with EMR and Microsoft Outlook/Word.

Qualifications

• Current California State License as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required
• MSN required, unless grandfathered in as NP with BSN or a PA with a BS degree
• Completion of clinical preceptorship or at least 1 year of experience required
• BLS within one month of hire and on-going
• ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
• Interpersonal skills necessary to instruct/comfort patients and families; maintain communication with healthcare team
• Basic computer knowledge including: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Internet
• EMR software proficiency

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and perform examinations in family practice setting
• Order diagnostic tests and prescribe medications as appropriate
• Counsel/educate patients and promote high-quality care
• Coordinate with healthcare team and supervise staff as needed
