Job summary

The NP will obtain histories, perform exams, discuss treatment options, manage post-op care, and collaborate on care plans. Strong communication and leadership abilities are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved formal education program preparing nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
• Licensed in Louisiana as APN or PA; certification or eligibility as primary care NP or PA.
• BCLS certification required, ACLS/NALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain history and perform physical exams for new and follow-up patients.
• Discuss treatment options; initiate and/or collaborate plan of care.
• Manage patient phone calls and postoperative staple/suture removal.
• Review pre-op labs; assist in patient education and pre-op clearance.
• Provide patient education and refer to community resources as needed.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
