Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner to join the Behavioral Health/Medicine team on 11N in New York, NY. This full-time role requires NY RN and NP licenses, a BSN, a BSN, and BLS certification.

The position includes on-site duties, 4/10 shifts, and occasional weekend/holiday coverage. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, diagnostic planning, orders and interpretation of tests, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Master's Degree in Nursing or Nurse Practitioner specialty program.
• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• Current New York State Nurse Practitioner License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Develop diagnostic impressions and evidence-based treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests and results.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with New York State and federal regulations.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Provide patient and family education to promote wellness, recovery, and disease management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and clinical practice evaluations.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff and students.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered environment that upholds the highest standards of care.
