  • Active, unrestricted Washington, DC NP license (or ability to obtain before start)
  • FNP certification through ANCC or AANP (required; panel includes pediatric patients; AGPCNP does not meet requirement)
  • Active DEA registration required
  • MSN, DNP, or equivalent advanced nursing degree
  • 1–3 years NP clinical experience
  • Chronic disease management experience required
  • Experience with or clear interest in Medicaid and underserved populations
  • Comfortable seeing pediatric patients: well child care, vaccines, physicals
  • Spanish language skills strongly preferred
  • Community health, FQHC, or public health experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan at two assigned clinic sites
  • Provide well child care, immunizations, physicals, and preventive screenings
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions with emphasis on chronic disease management
  • Manage patients with multiple chronic conditions alongside significant social needs
  • Prescribe and manage medications including controlled substances
  • Order and interpret onsite labs and point-of-care testing
  • Coordinate referrals with specialists, hospitals, and community organizations
  • Provide health education and counseling with attention to health literacy
  • Document care accurately in the EHR
  • Participate occasionally in community outreach events at clinic sites

A growing primary care organization in Washington, DC is hiring a staff FNP for a focused, purely clinical role across two small clinics built inside DC public housing communities. No administrative duties, no leadership requirement, just comprehensive primary care for Medicaid families spanning children through older adults with thirty-minute appointments, onsite labs, and medical assistant support at every visit. Monday–Friday, no weekends, full scope of practice from day one under DC licensure. Spanish language skills strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule & Compensation
  • $125,000–$140,000/year (set by experience)
  • Onsite, split between two DC clinic locations
  • ICHRA: $300/month toward individual health plan
  • PTO up to 2 weeks accrued + 7 paid holidays | Paid sick leave from day one
  • CEU allowance up to $500/year | Malpractice covered
