Job summary

MACT Health Board Inc. is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a full-time clinical role in California. The FNP will provide comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare to individuals and families, evaluating and treating acute illnesses and arranging necessary follow-up care.

The position emphasizes teamwork with the Medical Department’s staff and ongoing quality improvement. Competitive compensation and a supportive benefits package are offered.

  • Experience providing primary medical services for patients of all ages.

Who you are:

We are seeking a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare to individuals and families across the lifespan and provide support to the Medical Department’s professional staff. The FNP will:

  • Provide primary medical services of patients of all ages
  • Evaluate and treat acute injuries and illnesses
  • Conduct and record results of physical examinations
  • Arrange all follow up lab work, x-rays, and outside patient care needs
  • Provide patient education for health promotion, risk management and disease prevention
  • Interface with community and assist patients in utilizing resources
  • Maintain case records as required within the regulations and requirements of our funding agencies
  • Meet regularly with other clinic providers to review patient care issues and concerns and actively participates in Quality and Performance Improvement activities
  • Maintain good working relations among all staff through appropriate communications
What you need:
  • Possession of a current California licensure as a Family Nurse Practicitioner
  • One year of supervisory experience in an ambulatory clinic preferred
  • Current BLS/ALS certificate preferred
  • Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  • Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).

The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulnessand good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
