Job summary

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a Floating Family Nurse Practitioner to support North Central Alabama across multiple clinics. You will provide urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine with a focus on patient-centered care.

The role requires FNP board certification and MSN or higher, excellent communication, and EMR proficiency. Expect a fast-paced environment with varied shifts and opportunities to lead teams at different sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with EMR and Microsoft Office suite preferred.
• MSN or higher degree required for credentialing as FNP.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate (e.g., toenail removal).
• Conduct suturing and splinting; manage general orthopedic cases.
• Review X-rays with radiologist over-read when needed; perform dermatology and eye care.

Overview

Floating Family Nurse Practitioner – North Central Alabama. MainStreet Family Care is hiring a fast, friendly Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to work across multiple clinics in the area. Provide patient-focused care in urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal applicant will be flexible, able to work with teams in different clinics, and capable of providing leadership in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment.

Responsibilities

• Minor surgery (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.)
• Suturing
• Splinting
• General orthopedic evaluations/management
• Review of x-rays (over-read by Radiologist, too)
• General dermatology
• General eye problems
• General EKG interpretations
• Emergency management skills
• General GYN expertise
• Treating children of all ages
• Occupational medicine
• Telemedicine

Schedule

• Shifts determined two months in advance
• MainStreet Clinic Hours
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• KidsStreet Clinic Hours (Montgomery, AL, Pelham, AL, Mobile, AL, Tallahassee, FL, Gainesville, FL, Wake Forest, NC, Greenville, NC, Chapel Hill, NC, Wilmington, NC, Winston-Salem, NC, Athens, GA, Augusta, GA and Columbus, GA only)
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Work hours are subject to change based on company needs, training, floaters, etc.

Qualifications

• Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification required
