The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Family Ministries Coordinator to support families in need within the community. This role involves collaboration with case managers to assess and address the needs of families and to promote participation in programs like Pathway of Hope.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least two years of experience in social work or ministry leadership. Strong communication skills and organizational abilities are essential.
As our Family Ministries Coordinator, you will support families in our community that seek assistance for physical needs, personal growth opportunities, and spiritual direction in an effort to fulfill the mission.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in ministry, social work, psychology or related field is strongly preferred.
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: At least two years of experience in social work or related field; experience in ministry leadership.
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment; must complete Salvation Army Caseworker Certification Program within 120 days of employment.
Supervises volunteers.
There are some travel expectations (i.e., picking up food pantry donations) with The Salvation Army vehicles.
Work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work.
