Job summary

Puyallup Tribal Health Authority in Tacoma, WA seeks a Family Medicine Physician (DO) to serve as Residency Core Faculty. You will provide full-spectrum care and dedicate about half your time to resident education, teaching, and curriculum development.

The role includes inpatient OMM services, mentoring residents, and contributions to quality improvement within a tribally operated health system that emphasizes cultural humility and community care.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or eligible for certification.
  • Eligibility for WA medical license and hospital privileges within four months.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in OMM/NMM.
  • Experience teaching and precepting residents.
  • Commitment to cultural humility in Native communities.
  • Current ACLS and/or PALS and/or ALSO certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-spectrum family medicine care, including obstetric, psychiatric, surgical, and emergency services.
  • Serve as core faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program; devote ~50% to education and curriculum.
  • Provide inpatient OMM services at area hospitals and facilities as assigned.
  • Teach and evaluate resident OMM skills through didactics and workshops.
  • Mentor residents and medical students in clinical and professional growth.
  • Engage in quality improvement, peer review, and committees.
  • Collaborate with specialists and coordinate referrals for continuity of care.
  • Promote community-focused, culturally responsive health education.
