Job summary

Avenue360 Health And Wellness in Houston is seeking a Family Medicine Physician to deliver primary care to a diverse outpatient population within a federally qualified health center. Under supervision of the Executive Vice President, Medical, you will provide comprehensive medical care and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include examining and treating patients of all ages, documenting in EMR, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Texas medical license.
• Board certification in Family Practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience in HIV/AIDS care preferred.
• Valid DPS and DEA licenses for practice.
• Thorough knowledge of medicine and allied services.
• Special interest in community medicine.
• Able to relate to culturally diverse patients.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

About The Role

Overview:

Under the direction of the Executive Vice President, Medical, the Family Medicine Physician delivers primary care commensurate with training and experience to all Avenue 360 patients. Delivers care appropriate for an outpatient, primary care FQHC with a multicultural, multilingual patient population.

What You'll Do

• Examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages.
• Acts as primary consultant on all adult cases referred by other staff providers of Avenue 360.
• Completes all EMR required fields after each visit including the e-signing of notes.
• Provides quality medical care according to Avenue 360 standards on quality assurance.
• Supervises medical assistants and lab personnel in area of specific support services for patient care delivery.
• Attends all internal provider meetings, committees, as necessary and/or required by Avenue 360.
• Performs all duties and services in full compliance with Joint Commission and funding source standards.
• Performs quality management/assurance activities.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be in possession of a valid license to practice in the State of Texas.
• Board certified in Family Practice required.
• Current BLS Certification required.
• Experience is HIV/AIDS care preferred.
• Must be in possession of a valid DPS and DEA licenses for practice.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her training.
• Demonstrate a special interest in the area of community medicine.
• Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Continuing Education And Requirements

Participates in trainings required by the funding source and/or as required by licensure.
