Job summary

Trueline Talent's client, a Colorado family law firm, seeks a seasoned Family Law Paralegal to join a Denver-area hybrid team. The role requires familiarity with Colorado proceedings and the ability to independently manage a busy caseload with meticulous organization.

You will support attorneys across divorce and family matters, organize pleadings, track deadlines, assist with discovery, and prepare for hearings.

Qualifications

  • Professional paralegal experience in a law firm or similar setting.
  • Significant divorce and family law experience.
  • Familiarity with Colorado family law proceedings and court processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong drafting, proofreading, and written communication abilities.
  • Hybrid Denver-area work availability; remote acceptable for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys across a busy divorce and family law caseload.
  • Manage multiple active matters with deadlines and organized documents.
  • Prepare, review, organize, and maintain pleadings, filings, discovery materials, and case documentation.
  • Track court dates, deadlines, client obligations, and other critical dates.
  • Assist with discovery requests, responses, and document production.
  • Help prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, depositions, trials.
  • Maintain electronic case files with accuracy.
  • Communicate professionally with clients navigating sensitive matters.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, experts, clients, and others.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents and action items.
  • Navigate Colorado family law proceedings and court processes independently.
  • Work independently while staying aligned with team.
  • Support the growth of a Colorado family law practice.

Job description

Trueline's client, a growing law firm expanding its family law practice in Colorado, is seeking aFamily LawParalegal to join their Denver-area team. This is a hybrid opportunity for an experienced family law paralegal who is familiar with Colorado proceedings and brings the meticulous organization, accuracy, and follow-through required to independently manage a busy caseload.

The Colorado practice is exclusively focused on family law and represents an important area of expansion for the firm. Hybrid work is preferred for Denver-area candidates, although fully remote flexibility may be considered for an outstanding candidate with the experience and independence to make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do as the Paralegal:
  • Support attorneys across a busy divorce and family law caseload
  • Manage multiple active matters simultaneously while keeping deadlines, documents, communications, and next steps organized
  • Prepare, review, organize, and maintain pleadings, filings, discovery materials, correspondence, and case documentation
  • Track court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, client obligations, attorney commitments, and other critical dates
  • Review case information carefully to identify missing documentation, inconsistencies, and outstanding items
  • Assist with discovery requests, responses, document collection, organization, and production
  • Help prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, depositions, trials, and other proceedings
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic case files
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients navigating divorce and other sensitive family matters
  • Coordinate with attorneys, courts, opposing counsel, experts, clients, and other parties
  • Follow up proactively on outstanding documents, information, and action items
  • Adapt priorities as urgent issues arise without losing track of existing responsibilities
  • Navigate Colorado family law proceedings and court processes with an appropriate level of familiarity
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with attorneys and the broader team
  • Help support the continued growth of a newly expanding Colorado family law practice
Must-Haves as the Paralegal:
  • Professional paralegal experience within a law firm or comparable legal environment
  • Significant divorce and family law experience
  • Familiarity with Colorado family law proceedings, court processes, filings, and related procedures
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Meticulous organizational habits
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active cases and competing deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong drafting, proofreading, and written communication skills
  • Ability to carefully analyze detailed case information and identify missing or inconsistent information
  • Strong calendaring and deadline-management discipline
  • Proven ability to independently prioritize and follow through on assignments
  • Professional judgment when working with sensitive and confidential client information
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working with clients during emotionally difficult circumstances
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of accountability without constant supervision
  • Ability to work in the Denver area in a hybrid environment, unless approved for a fully remote arrangement
Nice-to-Haves as the Paralegal:
  • Extensive Colorado divorce and family law experience
  • Experience supporting complex or high-asset divorce matters
  • Experience with contested custody or sophisticated family law litigation
  • Trial and hearing preparation experience
  • Experience supporting attorneys through discovery-intensive matters
  • Experience helping a growing legal office establish effective case-management processes
  • Experience working successfully in a hybrid or remote law firm environment
Our Client Offers:
  • Base salary of $80,000-$100,000, depending on experience
  • Flexibility above the stated range for an outstanding candidate
  • Hybrid work structure for Denver-area candidates
  • Fully remote flexibility may be considered for an exceptional candidate
  • Employer-sponsored healthcare, with approximately 70% of the cost paid by the employer
