Job summary

Community Legal Aid (CLA) seeks a temporary attorney to join the Family Law Unit in Springfield for one year. The attorney will handle family law matters (divorce, child support, visitation, custody) for clients, many survivors of domestic violence and other crimes, with significant client contact and an active caseload.

Community outreach and collaboration with partners are part of the role. The position offers a hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least three days per week;

Qualifications

• Current third-year law students, recent law school graduates encouraged.
• Prior family law experience, especially with domestic violence survivors, preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law matters (divorce, child support, visitation, custody).
• Maintain an active caseload and take on new cases.
• Engage in community outreach and education with community partners.
• Assist with grant reporting as required.
