Job summary

Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF) in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Family Advocate to engage families, promote child development and school readiness, and provide targeted support to vulnerable families. Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred. Travel between Bronx & Brooklyn is expected as part of program operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Social Work, Family and Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to travel between Bronx and Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Engage families as partners to promote children’s healthy development and school readiness.
• Provide intensive weekly contact with vulnerable families and coordinate referrals.
• Identify services and resources to support family goals and self-sufficiency.
• Coordinate family engagement activities and lead workshops to build social capital.
• Maintain accurate records and support ERSEA information management.
