Job summary

Starfish Family Services is seeking a dedicated Parent Support Partner (PSP) to empower families affected by emotional and behavioral health challenges. The role involves home or community visits, coordination with CMHSP staff, and delivering skill-building interventions to promote family independence.

As a PSP, you will work closely with mental health professionals, support treatment planning, and provide families with resources and non-judgmental encouragement to enhance parenting capacity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Eligibility for MDHHS State Peer Support Specialist Certification: 18+, parent or day-to-day caregiver with child facing challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Learn families’ story, culture, strengths, and concerns.
  • Coach families to navigate the system by building skills and accessing resources.
  • Provide skilled interventions as part of the treatment plan.
  • Meet with families in home, community, or other settings to work on goals.
  • Provide information about CMHSP, the Parent Support Partner role and related services.
  • Offer non-judgmental support, encouragement, and hope.
  • Support families in identifying and applying techniques for parenting.
