Job summary

The Office of Children’s Services (OCS) in Wasilla, Alaska is seeking a full-time Social Services Associate to support family contact for children in foster care. You will collaborate with Beacon Hill and the Mat-Su Health Foundation to promote culturally centered family interactions and ensure timely documentation and safety during visits.

Responsibilities include coaching parents on safe parenting, transporting children when needed, and coordinating with foster care placements.

Qualifications

• One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience assisting clients, customers, or staff in explaining and applying guidelines, policies, or services.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate family contact between children in foster care and families.
• Provide coaching to parents on safe parenting skills and complete documentation of family contacts.
• Transport children to and from family contact as needed and assist with scheduling with foster care placements.
• Work with Parents and PSS to ensure safety and wellbeing during family contact.
• Maintain professional communication and adapt to last-minute changes; travel may be required.
