Qualifications

• Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and instructional practices.
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Instruct assigned classes at the designated times and locations.
• Create a classroom environment that fosters student engagement and achievement of learning objectives.
• Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicate clear objectives to students.
• Establish learning objectives aligned with VBCPS curriculum framework.
• Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques to motivate students.
• Maintain safety precautions to protect students and property.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and school policy.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and managing classroom conduct.
• Be available outside instructional hours for education-related purposes.
• Establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher assistants and volunteers.
• Appraise own effectiveness and pursue professional development.
