Prairie Band Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Family Practice Clinic at the Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center (WWKMHCC), an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located in Sisseton, South Dakota. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week government contract role, starting in October, offering you the opportunity to provide high-quality care to the Lake Traverse Reservation community.

40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Long-term contract with potential for extension
Local and travel providers welcome
Prior IHS or government healthcare experience a plus
Minimum 2 years of experience treating all ages
Open to Family NPs, Internal Medicine NPs, and PAs
Local providers are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide primary care services to American Indian and Alaska Native patients across the lifespan
Conduct physical exams, review patient histories, and order diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with IHS formulary guidelines
Develop and manage individualized patient care plans
Educate patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
Participate in quality improvement efforts and clinical documentation
Follow infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality protocols
Utilize the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process for external referrals

Additional Duties:
Other duties may be assigned by the clinic supervisor as needed. Flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to patient care are essential.

Requirements:

Must be certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Academy of Physician Assistants
2 years of experience as a Family, Internal Medicine or Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, Preferred
Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Must be Board Eligible or Certified
DEA
Must have current BLS
ACLS, PALS preferred
Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
Must be a US Citizen living primarily in the United States
Must be willing to pass a federal background check
U.S. Citizenship and current residence in the continental United States
Must not require visa sponsorship (no visa holders or green card residents)
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
