Job summary

Long Island Head Start is hiring an Early Head Start Family Case Worker to recruit, manage cases, and support families in our program. You will ensure services meet Head Start standards and reflect advocacy and effective case management practices.

The role requires ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local rules while assisting families with information and referrals and coordinating services to promote child development and family well-being.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma or an associate degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling, or a related field with two (2) years experience in a Health / Human Services Agency and a Family Development Credential (FDC) or its equivalent within eighteen (18) months of hire.
• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Counseling or a related field with one (1) years experience in a Health / Human Services Agency and a Family Development Credential (FDC) or its equivalent within eighteen (18) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and case management for children and families in the Early Head Start Program.
• Provide support, information, and referrals to families in compliance with Head Start standards.
• Promote best practices in advocacy and case management within federal, state, and local rules.
