Job summary

DCI Donor Services in Nashville, TN seeks a Family Care Manager to oversee organ and tissue authorization activities and to guide frontline staff through the authorization process. The role is onsite with extensive on-call duties and leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a BA in a related field, 3+ years in OPO authorization, and strong communication skills. Master’s degree and CTPS are a plus; MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

  • BA degree in related field is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of OPO experience in authorization or related leadership roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Pass MVR underwriting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-call administrative services to support family conversations. On-site response when necessary.
  • Supervises day-to-day family care staff activities and ensures SOP adherence.
  • Collaborates with Clinical and Hospital Services Manager on activities and meetings.
  • Participates in leadership training and implements leadership principles.
  • Coaches and counsels family care staff and ensures training.
  • Participates in external/internal committees representing organ operations.
  • Collaborates with Medical Directors on policy/practice changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at TDS is to save lives through organ donation and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are currently seeking a Family Care Manager. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the OPO’s organ and tissue authorization activities. The Family Care Manager oversees the implementation of donor family services policies and procedures, provides supervision and support to all staff supervised, assumes on call duties to guide staff through the various aspects of authorization process, ensures that quality practices are employed, and that policies, procedures and local protocols are adhered to. Extensive on-call duties are required. This is an onsite position in Nashville, TN.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  • Provides on-call administrative services to support family conversations completed by frontline staff. Ability to provide on-site response for family conversations when necessary.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of family care staff. Ensures adherence to standard operating policies and procedures. Ensures the timely provision of all potential donor evaluations, standard approach, and obtains authorization. Ensures that the call schedule is adequately covered at all times.
  • Collaborates with Clinical and Hospital Services Manager and staff on activities and meetings as requested.
  • Participates in all leadership training opportunities and will implement all leadership principles into management position. Leadership principles include recruitments, peer interviews, hiring, on boarding, monthly rounding, coaching, and mentoring all staff. Will monitor family care staff's progress, encouraging growth and setting professional goals that are in line with the organizations strategic plan.
  • Provide employee coaching and counseling as needed. Responsible for ensuring all family care staff are trained and efficient in their primary job responsibilities. Will participate in all clinical department staff meetings and case reviews.
  • Participates in external and internal committees to represent organ operations and the entire organization.
  • Participates with Medical Directors and Medical Advisory Committee related to policy/practice changes and review of donation opportunities as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BA degree in related field required. Master's preferred
  • 3+ years of OPO experience in authorization, leadership experience preferred but not required
  • CTPS preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.
