Job summary

Samsung Research America’s Digital Health Algorithms team seeks PhD candidates to advance AI/ML methods for wearable and cloud-based health solutions. You will work on multi-modal physiological data and develop algorithms that improve patient outcomes.

This internship emphasizes hands-on prototyping, collaboration across disciplines, and publishing results. Location: Mountain View, CA; the program offers real-world impact on clinicians and consumers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing PhD in CS, EE, BIomedical Eng or related.
• Strong prototyping skills in AI/ML model development.
• Experience with physiological signal processing and large-scale time-series analytics.
• Experience with AI foundation models and fine-tuning.
• Programming languages: Python, R, C/C++, Java, Android.
• Cloud infra: AWS, SageMaker Studio, GCP; SQL; GitHub.
• Strong communication and teamwork; publications in top venues.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel AI models for digital health services.
• Design and optimize self-supervised learning models for health applications.
• Work with large-scale time-series data to train models on AWS.
