Job summary

Schuman Cheese in Fall Creek, Wisconsin is hiring a 3rd shift Material Handler to support warehouse operations Sundays through Fridays, 10pm–6am, with a $2.00 per hour shift differential. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, with 1–2 years warehouse experience encouraged.

Responsibilities include picking, packing, receiving stock, inventory controls, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and following SOPs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred.
  • Forklift and hand lift experience preferred (must be able to obtain forklift license).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and paying special attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task, work quickly while accurately.
  • Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to contribute to a team environment.
  • Dependable and Reliable.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare & complete orders for pickup according to schedule (pulling materials, load, wrap, label, ship).
  • Receive & process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label - lpn's, store).
  • Perform inventory controls & keep quality standards high.
  • Maintain a safe & clean work environment by keeping shelves pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping area.
  • Complying with Company procedures, rules and regulations; optimize space utilization.
  • Report any discrepancies.
  • Truck inspections to include, temperatures, seals and condition of loads.
  • Communicate & cooperate with supervisors, shipping clerk, co-workers, & truck drivers in a professional manner.
  • Load & unloading of trucks in a safe manner.
  • Operate and maintain preventively warehouse forklifts, hand lifts, and equipment.
  • Follow quality service standards & comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain responsibility for the quality and food safety of products.
  • Bring food safety and quality problems to the immediate attention of Schuman personnel with authority to initiate action.

Schuman Cheese is looking to hire a 3rd shift Material Handler. This shift will be Sunday night - Friday morning. 3rd shift is 10pm - 6am and has an additional shift differential of $2.00 per hour.

The Material Handler performs an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse in accordance with Schuman Cheese Mission and Values; working with Commitment, Honesty and Integrity, Pride, be Adaptable and Innovative.

Responsibilities:

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, on occasion up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitious, production-line types of work.
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work inside a freezer or cooler and in cheese processing environment temperatures (32 – 52 degrees F).
  • Able to work with tree nuts and milk allergens.
