Job summary

Gray Media is launching a Fall '26 training program at WEAU News in Eau Claire, WI. This 10-week immersive experience offers hands-on journalism with real assignments, under coaching from veteran reporters. You will produce content across platforms, from TV to digital, gaining a robust portfolio.

You will work about 25 hours weekly, earn pay in the state minimum up to $15/hr, and have opportunities for future employment within Gray Media’s network of stations.

Qualifications

Current student in or recent graduate pursuing a career in journalism or related field.
Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

Own the role: act as producer, MMJ, meteorologist, or sales executive on real assignments.
Drive digital engagement: create content for social, streaming, and web.
Collaborate with seasoned professionals to learn on the job.
Commit to the craft: 25 hours per week for 10 weeks to build a portfolio.
