Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Critical Lift & Transport Technician (Launch) to manage the movement, packaging, and maintenance of flight hardware and GSE at Vandenberg Space Force Base and Long Beach. You will operate cranes, SPMTs, and forklifts while coordinating with engineers to ensure safe, on-time transport and launch readiness.

The role demands strict adherence to safety standards, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace environment, with potential travel

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 1+ years of professional experience in Critical Lift or Heavy Haul
• Associate degree in aerospace technology or equivalent area of study
• Experience within aerospace or automotive production
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting complex fluid and mechanical systems

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Falcon 9 stages, Payload, Dragon capsule and GSE movements at Vandenberg Space Force Base and Long Beach
• Perform preventative maintenance on mobile cranes, cranes, and SPMTs
• Work with technicians and engineers to ensure transportation systems are maintained at high quality
• Utilize heavy machinery to lift and move flight hardware and GSE
• Develop and coordinate work instructions for efficient packaging of flight hardware and equipment
