Diocese of Saint Petersburg invites applications for Substitute Teachers to support Cathedral School of St. Jude during the 2026–2027 school year.

Candidates will maintain a positive, structured learning environment and follow lesson plans across Preschool to Middle School grades. Ideal candidates demonstrate classroom management, effective communication, flexibility, and a commitment to both academic and spiritual development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Classroom teaching experience required.
• Open to Substitute teaching roles for Preschool/Elementary/Middle.
• Practicing Catholics preferred but not required.
• Level II background screening required.
• Safe Environment Training required.
• Professional references with complete contact information required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment in the absence of the classroom teacher.
• Follow provided lesson plans and support student learning.
• Lead students in prayer and model Catholic values.
• Support academic and spiritual development of students.
