Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a Classroom Aide in Cottleville, MO to assist the teacher in delivering instruction within a safe, faith-centered learning environment. You will collaborate to support student learning, routines, and the Catholic mission of the school.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience with children, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Background checks and diocesan requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with children preferred.
• Experience in a classroom or educational setting is a plus.
• Patient, dependable, compassionate, and able to work well with children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to supporting Catholic identity, mission and values.
• Must meet all background-check, training and diocesan requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and routines.
• Provide individual and small-group support to students.
• Help students stay engaged and on task.
• Support positive classroom behavior and school expectations.
• Supervise students during activities, transitions, lunch, and recess.
• Prepare, organize, and distribute classroom materials.
• Assist students needing additional academic, social, or behavioral support.
• Encourage students to demonstrate Christian values and compassion.
• Support classroom prayer, religious activities, and faith-based experiences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with the classroom teacher and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters.
• Follow all safety, health, and child-protection policies.
• Attend required meetings, training, and professional-development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
