Job summary

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions Division is seeking a Failure Analysis Technician for the Raleigh, NC plant. You will troubleshoot and analyze failures to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and support cross-functional teams to improve product reliability and quality.

The role emphasizes 5S+, ES.D controls, and adherence to EH&S policies, with collaboration across Engineering, Quality, Test and Production to drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in troubleshooting electronic equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, web-based information, and documentation systems.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret product drawings, manufacturing documents and electronic schematics.
• Relocation Assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates within a 60-mile radius of Raleigh, NC, will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot/ Screen failed components from systems test and identify and complete any rework needed.
• Analyze failures to determine root cause and suggest corrective actions.
• Develop test plans for analysis of any new product components and coordinate any new functional testing capabilities.
• Review product operational event and history logs to facilitate failure analysis.
• Document failure information including root cause and possible corrective and preventive actions as a feedback loop to improve product quality and provide input to new product development processes.
• Manage Failure Analysis area logistics including transportation of material, material transactions, and disposition of product.
• Support/ Maintain test equipment in accordance with calibration system requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, test, and production.
• Serve as plant champion of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls.
• Maintain 5S+ in the work areas associated with the failure analysis process.
• Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s financial and aspirational goals, encouraging continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
• Assist in facilitating and supporting company internal and external audits.
• Maintain internal documentation control system of all company processes and procedures.
• Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures and work procedures.
