Job summary

Sonaca North America is seeking a day shift Quality Inspector to inspect assembled parts and document results to support the company’s quality system. The role involves reading blueprints, GD&T, and customer requirements, and preparing parts and documentation for outside criteria.

The ideal candidate has HS diploma, aerospace inspection experience, and may have experience with CMM programming. The position includes full benefits and a focus on quality and compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing

  • Experience reading and interpreting customer instructions, blueprints, charts, and GD&T.
  • Experience with CMM programming is preferred.

  • Conduct FAI and final inspections including AS9102 documentation.
  • Document nonconforming material per quality system requirements and determine acceptability against work orders.

Job description

We are currently seeking a day shift (Mon.- Fri. 7am-3:30pm) Quality Inspector to perform inspection functions of assembled parts. Our Quality Inspectors inspect products and/or documents at various stages of production, to validate processes and provide documentation required to show compliance to the LMI Quality System. Also, read and interpret customer instructions, blueprints, charts, and other statistical information; prepare parts and documentation for outside criteria; and participate in work center and other problem-solving teams as requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to understand and perform inspection and testing techniques, including use of various measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Conduct testing procedures during manufacturing to ensure product complies with AS9100/ISO9001 quality standards.
  • Perform FAI and final inspections, including AS9102 documentation Read and interpret blueprints including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Documentation of Nonconforming material per quality system requirements.
  • Determining whether the product is acceptable or unacceptable per work order and customer requirements.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior quality inspector experience (in aerospace preferred).
  • Experience operating and programming a CMM is preferred.
  • Experience with Discus & Net inspect Effective verbal and written communication, including use of Microsoft office products.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates that do not have a HS diploma or GED will be required to take a pre-employment assessment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulation/Export Administration Regulations (ITAR/EAR) clearance is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position will require an employee to perform the following functions effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection.
  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud.
  • May occasionally lift and/or move 10 – 50 pounds.
