The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rice University inHouston, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track facultyposition in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, or opticalphysics, focusing on quantum science which encompasses quantuminformation processing, quantum sensing, quantum networks, quantumtransduction, quantum many-body physics, and quantum simulation.The ideal candidate will intellectually connect AMO physics totopics in condensed matter and quantum information. We seek anoutstanding scientist whose research will complement and extendexisting quantum activities within the Department and across theUniversity. In addition to developing an independent and vigorousresearch program, the successful applicant will be expected toteach, on average, one undergraduate or graduate course eachsemester and contribute to the service missions of the Departmentand University. The Department anticipates making an appointment atthe assistant professor level. A Ph.D. in physics or related fieldis required by July 1, 2027.
