Position Summary:

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hiring adjunct faculty to teach courses in our Philosophy program. The primary responsibility of part-time faculty is to provide quality instruction to students. Adjunct instructors are provided a contract for a single term only. Each contract ends at the end of the term, and a new contract will be provided if the adjunct faculty is hired for another term. An adjunct faculty member is under the management of the Program/Division Chair and supervised by the Academic Dean. This is not an online-only position, but may include online, hyflex, or hybrid classes in the future. All interested applicants must be able to teach in-person, or you will not be considered for the position.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Philosophy or Ethics; or master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in related coursework in Philosophy and/or Ethics
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Experience using learning management systems such as Blackboard, Canvas, or related software
  • Experience with Quality Matters standards

This faculty member will be on contract to teach face-to-face sections of Introduction to Ethics during daytime hours in Salisbury, Concord, and/or Kannapolis.
