Palmer College of Chiropractic invites applications for Part-Time Faculty Clinicians to support the Palmer Clinics. The role focuses on delivering quality chiropractic patient care while mentoring student externs and guiding clinical education.

A Florida license is required to practice and supervise within clinic protocols. Faculty will oversee student conduct, clinical procedures, documentation, and examinations, and coordinate clinical correlation classes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in arts or sciences.
  • Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited college.
  • Active Florida chiropractic license.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate integration of chiropractic art, science, and philosophy in the clinical setting.
  • Manage patient care within Palmer Clinics' approved protocol.
  • Be accessible and responsive to patient needs; monitor progress and follow up.
  • Provide mentoring and foster critical thinking for student externs; oversee conduct and clinical standards.
  • Oversee protocols and procedures for student externs, including adjustments and examinations; document and report.
  • Schedule clinical correlation classes with detailed competencies and case studies; participate in exams and conferences.
  • Serve on committees and perform duties in line with Palmer’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy.

Job description

Part-Time Faculty Clinicians support the mission of Palmer College and the Palmer Clinics, provide quality chiropractic patient care, provide leadership and guidance to student externs and provide quality chiropractic clinical education to student externs. Manage patient care within protocol of the Palmer Chiropractic Clinics. Oversee student conduct. Consult with other Faculty. Be accessible and responsive to patient needs. Coach and mentor students.Must have an active Florida Chiropractic license.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSResponsible to the assigned administrator and has a support responsibility to all other departments and college personnel as necessary.Responsible for the direct supervision of department personnel and others as assigned by the appropriate administrator.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFaculty duties fall under several areas: teaching, patient care, service/citizenship and advising/mentorship.Specifically, the following activities are expected of all faculty clinicians:Facilitate the integration of the art, science and philosophy of chiropractic in the clinical setting.Manage patient care within the approved protocol of the Palmer Chiropractic Clinics.Be accessible and responsive to the patient’s needs, monitor patient progress and ensure appropriate follow up.Provide avenues for referral to other health care providers as neededBe a consultation source for other faculty.Assure proper documentation is maintained on all patients, file patient reports in a appropriate and timely manner.Provide hands on mentoring and foster a critical thinking environment for student intern education.Oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism and clinical standards.Oversee and/or direct all clinical protocols and procedures by student externs including adjustments, examinations, radiology and laboratory procedures and case management.Schedule clinical correlation classes regularly incorporating detailed clinical competencies, case studies and clinical procedures.Perform qualitative evaluation assessment on interns, conduct doctor/student conferences.Participate in the development and running of the entrance and proficiency examinations.Serve on appointed committees, task forces and other teams.Perform all responsibilities in a manner that fully complies with Palmer’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to perform assigned teaching duties effectively.Ability to utilize general office equipment and other necessary equipment in teaching.Ability to effectively advise and mentor students.Ability to work effectively with others.Ability to work independently and autonomously.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to work various hours as job requires.Ability to participate as a Medicare insurance provider.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCERequires a Bachelor’s degree in the area of arts or sciences. Requires a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college. Requires an active Florida chiropractic license.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTPerforms sedentary to light work in a ventilated, lighted, and temperature controlled office setting. Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the workday.
