Divergent in Los Angeles is seeking a hands-on data systems specialist to drive production data standardization, simulation, and tool development across manufacturing operations. You will translate messy data into actionable insights, connecting sensors, MES, ERP, and other systems.

The role demands strong Python/SQL, data modeling, and visualization skills, with collaboration across Factory Data Acquisition, Data, Software, and Operations teams. This is a fast-paced, impact‑driven environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
Experience in data analytics, process improvement, or similar roles.
Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

Define and operationalize a measurement framework translating raw data into insights.
Standardize inputs/outputs across models to connect forecasting, scheduling, cost, and pricing.
Extend, tune, and maintain a discrete-event simulation for factory performance.
Prototype data models and internal tools, dashboards, and simulations.
Collaborate with factory ops and data teams to scope tool implementations.
Drive projects from discovery to ROI justification with ROI modeling.
Conduct ad-hoc analyses informing scheduling, staffing, and investments.
Create diagrams, presentations, and prototypes to align stakeholders.
