Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a skilled software engineer for the DevID service within the Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management org. You will develop and support PKI certificates for the Factory Build process, collaborating with the DeviD Architect and other teams across the US and world, including Taiwan.

The role requires US citizenship or a Green Card, with on‑site work and potential late hours.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship or Green Card required.
  • 4+ years of GoLAN development/maintenance in pure-GoLAN service.
  • Experience with Java and C code in legacy systems.
  • Applied cryptography: X.509, RSA, ECC; exposure to post-quantum algorithms like ML-DSA/KEM.
  • PKCS#11/HSM experience; Thales Luna knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to integrate with HSMs for RSA/ML-DSA operations; partition management.
  • TPM 2.0 fundamentals and go-tpm parsing.
  • Linux production environments; Docker, nginx; debugging at system level.
  • Cybersecurity mindset; CNSA 2.0 -> PQC transitions.
  • Database experience: MariaDB, MS SQL, MongoDB for cert tracking.
  • GitHub repos; CI/CD with GitHub Actions and multi-stage Docker builds.

Responsibilities

  • Follow HPE defect life cycle and build/release requirements with minimal guidance.
  • Apply coding standards; document and implement enhancements for shared code.
  • Lead or contribute to defining Product Strategy and SPEC requirements for DevID.
  • Provide proofs of concept and demonstrations for requirements using HPE tools.
  • Produce weekly status reports on schedule progress.

Job Description

The position is with the Product Security Office Team located within the Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management organization. The position is responsible for providing coding and user support for the DevID service; a key component of HPE Factory Build process, that provides the PKI Certificate.

Citizenship Requirement

Candidate must be a US Citizen or currently have a Green Card.

This role will work with Teams across the United States and the world including Taiwan.

User support requires availability during USA hours since the candidate will be the primary contact for assistance for HPE Factory Build process issues related to the DevID service. It will include late evenings, and weekends as needed.

Code development requires effective collaboration with the DeviD Architect/Software Development Lead on development and maintenance of the code base for new functionality, existing code revision and bug fixes as needed. This work includes development test validation with a focus on the use of test automation.

Typical Day
  • Actively participate in DevID related meetings and calls during USA hours
  • Respond to emails from internal and external team members as needed
  • Handle user support when it arises, providing resolution and/or workarounds
  • Work individually or as a team on new code development and existing code revision, including creation and maintenance of automated test scripts for the DevID service
Job Responsibilities
  • Follow HPE processes for defect life cycle and build/release requirements with minimum guidance
  • Apply current team coding standards; document, communicate, and implement required enhancements discovered during development, test, and integration to enable common source sharing
  • Lead or participate in the definition and finalization of Product Strategy and SPEC requirements for new DevID product functional needs
  • Provide proof‑of‑concept and demonstrations as needed to help finalize requirements using HPE‑agreed design tools
  • Provide weekly status reports on time, including progress against agreed schedule tasks
  • Maintain a quality focus with constant attention to detail; ask questions and provide feedback on strategy and issue resolution
  • Avoid procrastination and ensure timely, successful completion of all tasks with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, explaining complex technical concepts at all levels of HPE management
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen or currently have a Green Card due to the requirements of the role
  • 4+ years of documented technical experience in GoLAN code development/maintenance as a pure‑GoLAN service, including experience with CGo build constraints, interface design, and the standard library crypto stack for the DevID Service (REST microservices issuing X.509 DevID certificates to HPE hardware)
  • Experience in Java and C code development/maintenance used in legacy code
  • Applied cryptography experience: X.509 certificate chains, RSA, ECC, and ideally hands‑on exposure to post‑quantum algorithms such as ML‑DSA, ML‑KEM, and relevant TPM wire‑format parsing
  • PKCS#11/HSM experience, including key object handling, label semantics, partition management, and Thales Luna experience as a plus
  • Ability to integrate with HSMs for RSA and ML‑DSA key operations, including partition management and key label conventions
  • TPM 2.0 fundamentals: EK certificates, AK, attestation flows using go‑tpm, and TPMT_PUBLIC wire format parsing
  • Linux systems experience: containerized Linux production target, Docker, nginx, and system d‑level debugging
  • Cybersecurity mindset with familiarity with CNSA 2.0 requirements and transition to CNSA 2.0 PQC algorithms
  • Database experience with MariaDB, MS SQL Server, and MongoDB for certificate and artifact tracking
  • GitHub repository management; support multi‑environment deployment, maintain CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions and Docker multi‑stage builds with container registry deployment workflow
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Technical Qualifications
  • Experience with DevID standards (IEEE 802.1AR)
  • Familiarity with go‑attestation or go‑tpm
  • Familiarity with application observability setup and practices
  • Familiarity with HPE hardware (server, storage, and switch)
  • Familiarity with AI usage in product SPEC definition, code development, code validation test, and code security monitoring

The expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.
United States of America: Annual Salary USD 111,500 – 211,500 in Colorado, 106,000 – 243,000 in Texas.
The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
