Job summary

Textron Aviation seeks a Facility Technician B to analyze, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic malfunctions across process, delivery and facility equipment.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, use meters and infrared scanners, coordinate with contractors, and document activities in the maintenance system to keep operations safe and reliable.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent with technical training.
  • Experience with electrical/electronics and PLCs.
  • Minimum 1 year in a maintenance skilled trade plus 2 years in a related trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints and ladder logic diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of process facility equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance and report findings.
  • Use diagnostic equipment such as multimeters and infrared scanners.
  • Coordinate and/or perform assigned work with contractors and staff.
  • Document all activities in the Maintenance Management software.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Summary:

To analyze, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions on a wide variety of process, delivery and facility equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair a wide variety of process facility equipment. Technician must be able to apply electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical expertise and troubleshooting aptitude to maximize equipment uptime.

  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on equipment and reports findings regarding additional work and repairs to leadership.

  • Requires the ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as “multi-meters”, infrared scanning equipment and other tools necessary for servicing applicable equipment.

  • Coordinates and/or performs assigned work. Works with contractors and other maintenance personnel if necessary to ensure repairs are made properly and with minimum impact on operations.

  • Maintains open communications with supervision and customer department personnel. Documents all activities and departmental procedural requirements within the Maintenance Management software.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
Education:

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification plus formal technical training, including electrical/electronics, computerized/programmable controllers or other manufacturing technology applications. Must have a functional understanding in the use of blueprint, electrical schematics, and ladder logic diagrams. Specific documented experience of service work directly related to this field and demonstrated ability can be substituted for this requirement if the candidate has a minimum of 5 years electrical/electronics, computerized/programmable controllers or other manufacturing technology applications in their previous employment.

Experience:

A minimum of 1-year documented experience in a maintenance skilled trade related to the intended assignment plus 2 years’ maintenance experience, or apprenticeship, in a related additional applicable trade or skill set.

Working Conditions:

Somewhat disagreeable due to temperatures, dust, machinery related fluids and uncomfortable working positions. Must not be afraid of heights up to 30 ft., and be able to work overhead and in confined spaces.
