Job summary

Horizon Health Services in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Facility Technician to help keep our facilities safe and well‑maintained. You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance while supporting a team‑oriented work environment.

You will troubleshoot systems, coordinate with vendors, complete paperwork, and participate in a preventative maintenance program under the guidance of the Property Manager.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience required.
  • A clean, valid NYS driver's license with three years of driving experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, floor covering, painting, wall repairs and seasonal needs.
  • Troubleshoot building systems to maintain operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Provide oversight of daily maintenance tasks and safety compliance.
  • Navigate computer-based work order system and communicate priorities.

As a Facility Technician position at Horizon, you will…

  • Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, floor covering, painting, wall repairs and seasonal needs.
  • Troubleshoot all building systems to proactively maintain building operations.
  • Coordinate with vendor and subcontractors.
  • Complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Take direction from the Property Manager on issues concerning property management and maintenance; manage productivity and daily job responsibilities.
  • Perform cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems as needed. Ensure that building meets all appropriate compliance.
  • Perform universal precautions and use personal protective equipment; follow all OSHA, DOH, and building regulations.
  • Perform regulatory building audits, inspections, maintain reports and tracking systems to provide a safe and healthy environment for all clients and staff.
  • Manage a preventative maintenance program for building systems.
  • Provide oversight of all exterior property conditions.
  • Additional duties may be required, but are not limited to the following: renovation projects including alterations of walls, carpentry, drywall, electrical, doors, ceilings, plumbing, floor covering and paint.
  • Communicate effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Navigate and utilize computer‑based work order system.

  • Previous maintenance experience required. Open to specialties including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, patch work, HVAC, home repairs, etc.
  • Experience in cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems.
  • A clean, valid, NYS driver’s license, three years of driving experience, and reliable transportation to travel locally on a regular basis.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Location

This position is located at 291 Elm St, Buffalo NY.

Position Hours

This position is full-time, Tuesday – Saturday from 7:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Compensation

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $18.82 – $20.84. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:

  • Stationary posture, alternating between standing and sitting.
  • Ascending/descending on various structures (e.g., ladders).
  • Operating machinery/power tools and occasional operation of company‑owned motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Lifting objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions including low/high temperatures and outdoor elements.
